Touch The Sky

About Touch The Sky

Our story

Touch The Sky is a tandem paragliding company operating in Costa Adeje, South Tenerife. We were built as a flight school that offers tandem experiences — not the other way around.

How this started

Touch The Sky began in 2008 on the south coast of Tenerife. Taucho (1,050 m) and Ifonche (960 m) give us some of Europe's most consistent thermals, and Playa de Enramada in La Caleta gives us a landing zone you can drive to in ten minutes. That combination is rare. We built the company on top of it.

From day one, our framing was pedagogical. The goal wasn't to move as many passengers as possible — it was to fly each of them properly. That meant treating the tandem flight the way flight schools treat a first lesson: every brief given in full, every manoeuvre explained, every landing debriefed. Safety wasn't a marketing line. It was the baseline we started from.

From one pilot to a team

How we grow

For the first years Toni flew solo. As demand grew we didn't dilute the standard — we raised the bar. Every pilot we bring on holds a SafePro tandem certification, has a minimum hours threshold set above the regulatory floor, and goes through a shadow period flying alongside Toni before taking their own passengers.

The pilots you meet share the same philosophy: fly carefully, fly educationally, and fly enough of your own free time so that this never becomes a routine. None of us would fly with someone for whom this had become just a job.

Our pilots

Who flies you

Each pilot carries their own licences, their own hours, and their own flying style. What they share is a method and a standard.

Founder

Founder · Multiple-time national champion · SafePro Tandem Instructor

Toni founded Touch The Sky in 2008. Over the past two decades he's earned tandem licenses in four countries — New Zealand, Austria, Romania, and Spain — logged more than 10,000 tandem flights, and represented his country multiple times at the World and European Paragliding Championships.

He's also a multiple-time national champion. Today he splits his time between flying passengers, training the pilots joining the team, and the occasional competition abroad.

What every pilot has in common

The baseline we don't drop below.

These aren't Toni's credentials. They're the company's — every pilot who flies with us holds the equivalent.

  • 01

    Certifications

SafePro Tandem Pilot for every pilot, renewed yearly. Plus the Spanish active-tourism licence, tourism-intermediation licence, and passenger-transport card that Canary Islands regulation requires. All held in the company's name or each pilot's name — not on a forum screenshot.

  • 02

    Insurance

€1.5 million comprehensive liability insurance on every flight. Separate passenger coverage. Both policies are in force year-round, including on bad-weather days when we're not flying.

  • 03

    Equipment

Equipment from Ozone, Gin, Advance, and Woodyvalley — the full fleet renewed annually, not at end of service life. Reserve parachutes inspected and repacked every 12 months. Helmets for both pilot and passenger, inspected before every flight.

  • 04

    Weather policy

If the forecast isn't what we'd personally fly in, we don't fly. Rebooking is free. Refunds are full. The €110 we decline today is worth more than an incident that would otherwise end 18 years of operation.

Our rules

A short list we don't bend.

  • We only fly in conditions we'd fly ourselves in.

  • Every wing is inspected before every flight, and again at the end of the day.

  • Every pilot is also an instructor.

  • Every negative review is reviewed at the next morning brief.
